Children and Youth Development

MCDC

We operate a Camp-4-Kids that provides educational and recreational services to immigrant and other low-income children between the ages of four and fifteen years, whose parents are unable to afford the expensive summer camps in the area. Forty-two children and youth are participated in this year’s summer program. This camp provides a multi-cultural setting in which French, English and various African dialects are spoken by campers as well as counselors. Camp-4-Kids is in its seventh year of providing this service, and has a proven track record in the community.

"The kids in our program always have an exceptional time at the camp and they learn a lot of useful information at the same time. They learn geography, history, and more. They then see how learning can be fun. They can't wait to challenge themselves and reach for higher and higher goals to achieve. The parents can also feel assured that they are leaving their kids in a healthy, reliable setting."
